How it works

Everything you need to know about group buying on SquadDrop — for buyers and creators.

For Buyers

How does group buying work?

One person starts a group buy for a digital product. They share a link with friends. As more people join, the price drops for everyone in the group. Your card is authorized when you join, but you're only charged when the group buy window closes — and you always pay the lowest price the group reached.

Is my card charged immediately?

No. Your card is authorized (a temporary hold) when you join. You're only charged when the group buy window closes, and always at the lowest price the group achieved. If the group buy expires before reaching a discount tier, you still get the product at whatever price was locked in.

What if the group buy doesn't reach the minimum discount?

You still get the product. The price you locked in when you joined is the maximum you'll pay. If more people join after you, your price only goes lower — never higher.

How do I get my product after purchase?

When the group buy completes, you'll receive an email with your access link, download, or license key — directly from the creator. Delivery typically happens within 24 hours of the group buy closing.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the creator, not SquadDrop. Each product has its own refund policy set by the creator. See our Refund Policy for full details. If a creator fails to deliver, contact us at alex@squadrop.com.

Is SquadDrop the seller?

No. SquadDrop is a marketplace — you're buying directly from the creator. The creator sets the price, handles delivery, and manages refunds. SquadDrop provides the group-buy mechanism and payment processing.

For Creators

How do I sell on SquadDrop?

Create a creator account, set up your profile, and launch a campaign. You set the solo price, discount tiers, campaign duration, and product details. SquadDrop handles payments, group pricing, and buyer communication. You keep ~90% of revenue after Stripe fees.

What can I sell?

Digital products only — courses, SaaS subscriptions, templates, eBooks, memberships, design assets, Notion templates, code boilerplates, and more. We manually review first campaigns to maintain quality. See our Creator Vetting guidelines.

How do payouts work?

When a group buy completes, Stripe captures all authorized payments. Payouts are handled through your Stripe Connect account and deposited to your bank on Stripe's standard schedule (typically 2-7 business days).

What are the fees?

Standard Stripe processing fees apply (~2.9% + $0.30). SquadDrop charges no additional platform fee during beta. Future pricing will be transparent and competitive — we'll give plenty of notice before any changes.

How do I deliver products to buyers?

After a group buy completes, you can upload a CSV of license keys or access URLs through your creator dashboard. SquadDrop automatically emails delivery links to all buyers. You can also set up automated delivery for access-link products.
